Managing Director, Johannesburg
To guide the business into the future with planned growth, media awareness and fundraising, ensuring that all stated objectives, aims and targets are met and lead to the overall successful implementation of the company strategy
Key performance Indicators
1. Strategic Planning and Oversight
Plan, develop and implement business strategy for operational management and development to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timelines
Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, beneficiaries, stakeholders, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
Plan and direct the organisation's activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial and programme implementation, quality, culture and legislative adherence
Maintain awareness and knowledge of humanitarian development theories and practices.
Operational Management
Recruit, select and develop skilled team members in all required fields of operation according to organogram
Inspire, motivate and monitor effective performance of all staff
Oversee effective media, communications, marketing, promotional, financial, donor relations, logistics, transport and programme implementation functions and staff activities in these operations
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development
Monitor, measure and report on all operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed JAM global formats and timelines
Manage and develop direct reporting of all staff functions
Liaise with functional team operations understanding all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes, requirements and achievements
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
Financial Management
Plan realistic annual budgets for submission and motivation to Board
Manage and control company expenditure within approved budgets
Manage and oversee all financial reporting according to specific grant allocations
Marketing, Promotions and Donor Relations
Develop and implement a Marketing strategy
Develop and maintain relationships with key donors and stakeholders
Source opportunities with media, company, CSI, government and private partnerships
Market JAM SA within JAM's Global marketing strategy and reporting
Reports
Report to board on organisational plans and performance
Develop and formulate positive, factual and accurate reports for all donors at regular intervals
Ensure that donor reports are submitted in accordance with donor specifications and within required timeframes
Develop and maintain management reports relevant to operational and financial requirements

Key skills/competencies
Languages: English is essential Any one of the other 11 official languages is preferred
Computer literacy at an intermediate level
Qualifications required
Minimum Degree in business, social development or any other relevant field
Valid Driver's License
Experience required
Minimum 10 years in Senior Management – preferably in the NGO industry
