Job Mission
Managing the Core systems of the Network Department, which comprises of the following functional areas MSS, BSS, IN, VAS,GPRS, OSS,NOC
KPA Duties
Key Tasks: Switching System Operation Manage operation of the Core network systems. Monitoring of alarms on all the nodes. Attend to all faults in the switch nodes. Define new routes and C7 signalling between switch nodes. Ensure that all billing TTfiles are transferred to the BGw and backup procedures. Switching System Projects Involved in all switch projects being carried out by a vendor / supplier. Control and liase with contractors in the installation and commissioning of all Switching and VAS projects Transmission System Manage the maintenance and operation procedures for the DXX nodes Define and route channels on the DXX nodes including micro-nodes and basic nodes. Value Added Services Plan, test and implement roaming agreements with other mobile operators. Manage the maintenance and operation procedures on voicemail platform and SMSC Co-operate with other Departments regarding the implementation and testing of new features Manage interconnect relationship with SPTC ensuring all interconnect routes are operational. Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks Manage performance and ensure effectiveness of all switching systems Manage all staff within the Switch and VAS section Involved in the budgeting for capital and operational expenditure for the Switch and VAS section and control thereof Setting up a training and development plan for all staff within the section Responsible for updating the technology roadmap for the switching and VAS systems and planning the appropriate upgrade path for the hardware and software elements of this system.
Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunication / Electronics)
3 years in switching system AXE exchange environment
