Aga Khan University: (AKU) provides post-graduate training of health service professionals, teachers and managers of schools, and the development of research scholars. It was granted its charter in 1983 as Pakistan's first private, autonomous university.

The Position

The incumbent will be responsible for space planning and design management of facilities on-campus and off-campus. Other responsibilities would include:
Completing design and construction drawings of approved projects assigned;
Reviewing project design drawings in coordination with Maintenance/ Electrical/ Plumbing (MEP) engineers;
Assisting user groups in identifying space requirements and seeking consultants confirmation for specialized    building as per standards;
Advise and overview design of off-campus projects;
Follow up with planners and architects to have issues in conceptual/ schematic design resolved;
Assist in drafting scope of work for Master Planning conceptual/ schematic and design of buildings;
Review of Master Plan/ conceptual/ Schematic design for the campus, and highlighted issues for discussion by Users, management and board;
Making presentations to donors & AKD agencies.


The Requirements
A degree in Architecture;
10-15 years' related experience preferably in large projects;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills;
Proficiency in related software packages (Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Adobe Photoshop and 3D Studio Max);
Excellent Report writing skills;
Possesses sound knowledge of MEP requirements of high tech buildings specially for healthcare and laboratory facilities;
Ability to monitor preparation of 3D views;
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/ Corel Draw ( preferred);
Strong analytical skills.
