The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa is an International Baccalaureate World School located on the east coast of Kenya. The Academy seeks to provide students of all backgrounds, from primary to higher secondary school, with an education of the highest standard in order to prepare them for lives characterised by leadership and service. All 3 IB programmes are offered to students.
We invite applications from qualified registered teachers with substantial teaching experience for the following teaching posts. Candidates having familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes will be particularly welcome.
Geography/History/Humanities Teacher (state specialist subject/s)
The ideal candidate will have the following profile:
University degree in education
Substantial (3 years minimum) and successful teaching experience
Commitment to the co-curricular life of the school
Experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum up to 5 years
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
Experience working in the developing world
Experience with residential programmes is an advantage
Applicants for HoD Humanities should have a minimum of 5 years' IB experience, or equivalent experience in an inquiry-based, student-centred curriculum.
