Role Description:

To ensure stock levels in warehouses are maintained at optimal levels to support maintenance and operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12.  A diploma in Purchasing Management / Inventory control will be advantageous.
Advanced skills level in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Understand and comply with inventory management process and standard.
3 Years inventory management experience
Experience in SAP.
Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14000 quality standards.
Experience in vendor quality assessments.
Strong ability to counsel and influence stakeholders at mid management level.

Control, and Commercial awareness.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Maintain stock levels:

Ensure stock levels are maintained at optimal levels to support continues plant maintenance and operation.
Review inventory by generating Oniqua optimizer reports and identifying exceptions, making changes based on optimizer solution recommendations then applying inventory changes in GSAP.
Monitor stock Purchase Requisitions to ensure MRP generated requisitions are reviewed by the MRP Purchase Requisition Approver and released in the system for the Purchase Order to be created and sent to the Supplier.
Identify unreleased stock purchase requisitions and communicate with Warehouse Supervisors to take action.
Ensure quarterly data classification and conduct workshops with Warehouse Supervisors.
Identify potential obsolete stock and make recommendations to Warehouse Supervisors and key users.

Material Master Cataloging:

Ensure master data integrity (master data must comply to the BHP Billiton GLD standards).
Review material master requests received from Warehouse Supervisors or any other requestor and apply for a material master from MDO on the prescribed document.  Material master data requests must be in accordance to BHP Billiton GLD requirements.
Update the material master received from MDO with stock levels where applicable.

Reporting:

Generate Oniqua Optimizer reports and analyze the data.
Submit analyzed data to the Team Lead: Inventory and Warehousing for inclusion in monthly governance reports.
Do recommendations to Warehouse Supervisors.

Vendor quality assessments:

Assist the vendor management team with physical vendor quality assessments.
