CHIEF OF PARTY - RESILIENCE IN THE LIMPOPO RIVER BASIN

Chief of Party - Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin (RESILIM)

Mozambique


Tetra Tech ARD, a leading international development consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Chief of Party candidates for a USAID-funded Southern Africa’s Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin (RESILIM) Program. This will be a three to five year program to assist the Limpopo Watercourse Commission (LIMCOM) and other regional, national, and local stakeholders to improve trans-boundary management of the Limpopo River Basin resulting in enhanced resiliency of people and ecosystems.  The anticipated program will work in South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The COP position will be full time, based in Mozambique, and require frequent travel.

Responsibilities:

The Chief of Party’s role consists of a range of managerial and technical activities, including managing the deployment of short term technical experts. The Chief of Party position requires significant coordination with USAID and country counterparts, broad general and technical knowledge of climate change adaptation, experience in developing countries, and the skills to ensure coherence and consistency under tight deadlines, including quality control and timeliness of all deliverables.

Qualifications:

*Advanced degree in Water Resources, Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity, River Basin management, or other related field;

*Previous experience with trans-boundary Natural Resource or Water Management in Southern Africa;

*Minimum 5 years of chief of party or team leader experience;

*Demonstrated experience leading and monitoring teams of diverse professionals responding to complex assignments;

*Proven experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders including USAID, host government officials, multilateral and donor organizations, and local implementing partners.

*Preferred strong knowledge of USAID activities and guidelines;

*Experience in Africa required and Southern Africa preferred;

*Fluency in English required, fluency in Portuguese advantageous..
