ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR / SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF AFRICAN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE AND FACULTY OF HUMANITIES

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. in Modern Literature with specialization in African Literature with emphasis on the following areas: novel, short story, drama, poetry etc.

DUTIES:

1. To teach undergraduate courses in modern literature.
2. To supervise projects & conduct research.
3. To do Community Service.
4. To develop courses to be taught under African studies Center.

RELEVANT INFORMATION

5 years of university teaching experience is a requirement. Knowledge of Nguni Literature will be an added advantage.

LOCAL CANDIDATES
Permanent and Pensionable service after successful completion of two years on probation; Recruitment and Retention Allowance, Housing Allowance and a Medical Aid.

EXPATRIATE CANDIDATES
A two-year contract which will attract Gratuity, recruitment Allowance a Medical Aid contribution and relocation expenses.
