An exciting opportunity to see the world as part of Totals Exploration and Production (E&P) team has arisen for senior engineers with strong experience and expertise in the required discipline. Our E&P team is active in 42 countries across the globe and current opportunities offer attractive, long-term contracts in various international locations on a family or rotational basis.
Total plans the development of several bitumen deposits exploited by a variety of worldwide oilsands and oilshales mine projects. Total is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Mining Engineer in conceptual studies. You will perform or participate to studies related to mining engineering of open pit mines, technical and cost optimizations, and applicable innovative solutions.
Your activities will be:
Studies at various stages of development (scoping studies, prefeasibility to feasibilities...) of open pit mines on mining software suite: processing geological block model to create optimized pit shell, development phasing, and preliminary design of general lay-out
Conducting side studies for the selection and sizing of the equipment, the disposal of mining waste and ore processing tailings. Cost evaluations.
Managing consultants for the realization of the above studies, if they have to be externalized, or for the specialized subjects (geotechnics, hydrogeology
).
Managing purchased database and collecting data from operations, mining contractors or suppliers on technical and economical performances of operations and equipment.
Technical watch for new technological developments and their applicability in the mining operations.
Participation in the setting up of the Referential for mining (Total Groups written standards for each discipline).
Required skills
Education
Will have a mining engineering diploma or equivalent at master level.
Will be familiar with geomodel processing for delimitating the economical resources on a mining software suite.
Will have a high level of awareness of Health and Safety issues.
Will be fluent in both spoken and written English. French is also an advantage.
Experience
Will have a first experience in field operation and mining engineering ( 5 to 10 years..).
Will have some experience in open pit mining engineering and/or operations.
Skills
Will be adept at working collaborating and proactively sharing information and expertise with your colleagues.
Will be able to operate flexibly and sensitively in multi-cultural teams and local environments.
Will be able and keen to travel the World and work in a variety of countries.
