DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL ISSUES

Description
CARE is a leading humanitarian organization with presence in over 70 countries. Our mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world to escape poverty. CARE is seeking a highly qualified Deputy Director for Administrative and Financial Issues for an HIV/AIDS Prevention Project in Ethiopia. The candidate will report to the Project’s Chief of Party.
Principal responsibilities
Assist Chief of Party in the strategic planning, budgeting and management.
Responsible for the supervision, budgeting and administrative oversight of complex activities involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions.
Ensures timely reporting and financial management at all levels.
Provides capacity building to project staff and partners on USAID rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Ability to manage complex, multi-million dollar budgets and to keep a rigorous financial accountability in line with CARE and USAID’s regulations.
Masters Degree in relevant field preferred.
Demonstrated experience living and working in Ethiopia - Ethiopian nationals preferred.
Strong Interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills in English
Excellent analytical skills
Prior knowledge of USAID’s rules and regulations and experience managing a US Government-funded project.
Ability to travel extensively to Ethiopia’s targeted rural areas.
