Project Officer (for Seychelles nationals only), Mahé
Background
Working under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager (based in Mauritius), the Project Officer will support the timely implementation of all UNDP activities in Seychelles.
Duties and Responsibilities
Day to day management of the UNDP Projects and Programme in Seychelles Unit
Monitoring project delivery and manage portfolio of UNDP projects in the Seychelles
Maintaining a network of peers in the Government, UN, NGOs and stakeholder organization for the UNDP programme in Seychelles
Drafting progress reports and minutes of steering committee meetings
Providing support for the preparation and drafting of project documents and ensuring consistency with national development objectives and UNDP policies and procedures
Arranging briefings and related activities for missions in Seychelles (donors, technical advisors, consultants, UN agencies).
Providing administrative support to the Resident Coordinator system by liaising with resident and non resident UN agencies
Representing UNDP in various forums and meetings at the national level.
The key results have an impact on the success of country programme within specific areas of cooperation. In particular, the key results have an impact on the design, operation and programming of activities, creation of strategic partnerships as well as reaching resource mobilization targets.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Master Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences and other relevant field.
Candidates having a Bachelors Degree with five (5) years of relevant working experience will also be considered
Experience:
Three (3) years of post Master or Bachelors with 5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
Field-based experience with civil society is also very pertinent to this post.
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages and integrated computer systems or in handling web based management systems.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English and creole is essential.
Knowledge of French would be an asset but not a requirement.
Salary
Salary will be based on local UNDP salary scale for Service Contract.
