Financial Accountant

A challenging position is now available within the Financial Accounting team for an experienced finance professional, reporting to the Superintendent (Financial Accounting). You will participate in the day to day financial accounting and reporting tasks, which includes the recording and classification of financial accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS, VAT/Tax reconciliations and submissions, general ledger account maintenance and reconciliations, internal and external audit reviews, SOX internal control evaluation and stakeholder (shareholder and project lender) administration. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of Mozal's reporting requirements. This includes (but is not limited to) BHP Billiton Group reporting, Briefing Papers, Stewardship Review pack, Board & Risk and Audit committee (RAC) packs and the Annual Report. In addition, you will participate in ad-hoc improvement projects using BHP Billiton improvement methodology. You will be expected to ensure adherence and compliance with all regulations and procedures and initiate corrective action where necessary, create and maintain external financial relationships, communicate and report to stakeholders. You will be responsible to facilitate health, safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in your area. It includes delivering outstanding results by involving and motivating team members; safety leadership, personal leadership and visible commitment to the attainment of ZERO Harm.

To be considered, you will ideally be a qualified CA (or equivalent) a minimum of 3 years business and accounting experience. Knowledge/experience of SAP systems makes you a great fit.
