External Job Description Context/Scope
The post holder is expected to deliver significant profit growth and added value to the business through improved Procurement practices, strategic sourcing and development of the current supply base whilst maintaining existing service and quality parameters.
Plus provide support as required to the Africa Portfolio Manager in the development of regional category procurement strategies for spend across / within Africa.
Purpose of Role
To develop and implement the South Africa Procurement strategy within the Media category, establishing performance targets across the category and then managing suppliers to these targets.
Lead the development of appropriate strategic relationships with key partners. Engage and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, ultimately increasing spend coverage.
Leadership Responsibilities
Required to lead and facilitate the category management process through cross-functional teams to:
Provide in-depth market / portfolio analysis and understanding
Provide Procurement expertise by tapping into Global and Regional Diageo resources
Engage and involve key stakeholders
Engage senior sponsorship in local market
Use a variety of tools to develop insights and create strategic options
Finalise & agree portfolio strategies using the Diageo category management process
Recommend final source/s of supply
Put contracts in place with all suppliers
Manage strategic elements of supplier relationships
Drive supplier performance programmes
Champion Procurement within the Business
Has ability to act as a champion for change and create organisational momentum to deliver
Responsible for driving increased value from a large variety of supplier relationships from open market commodity purchases to long-term single sourced relationships. Drive SRM programmes with key suppliers. implement and support shareholder initiatives e.g. CCS, SFRM, CPRM.(As applicable)
Key Accountabilities
To play an integral role in the development and implementation of the Procurement strategy to maximise the value of Brandhouse’s expenditure
Manage and achieve/ exceed the performance targets for category. Delivery of strategic plan savings and agreed KPIs across key Procurement imperatives of Cost, Risk, Quality, Service, Growth, Innovation and Corporate Citizenship
Gaining stakeholder buy-in to principles and ways of working of Procurement team
Drive and promote strategies which deliver true cost savings back to the Business
To transform key supplier relationships for Brandhouse, to ensure breakthrough performance
Qualifications and Experience Required
Relevant Degree or demonstrable ability to learn and develop.
Minimum of 3-5 years commercial experience, within the category of Media, gained in a "blue chip" organization Procurement experience is desirable covering all procurement imperatives (quality, service, cost, risk, growth support, innovation)
Skilled communicator with a high level of personal impact which will enable the rapid establishment of constructive relationships
Analytical and numerical skills
Understanding of the category management process
Previous participation in Supplier Management Teams would be beneficial
