PURPOSE

To lead, develop and expand our total beverage alcohol (TBA) business within  the defined market in line with the long term strategy and annual business plan

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

University degree in business or related field

Minimum 3 years sales/commercial management within FMCG/beverage industry.

Experience in executing trade and consumer strategies across various African markets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Market Manager, you should be able to:

Develop and grow the TBA business by:

Delivering AOP

Driving business performance through relevant trade strategies

Building market intelligence & insights into the execution of commercial trade strategies

Allocating resources between markets to support trade strategy development

Executing sales drivers across market

Delivering amazing brand experiences at point of consumption

Champion the priority brands

Deliver the Game Plan activity

Identify and own the top 50 outlets with priority brands beating competition

Managing allocation and spending A&P budgets within market in conjunction with Trade Marketing Manager

Applying all stated controls, compliance and governance policy


Develop amazing relationships with stakeholders

- Internally:


Finance, HR, marketing, legal

Diageo Amsterdam supply

- Externally:


Consumers & key customers

Governments, NGOs & local agencies to deliver the responsible drinking and taxation agendas

Third party brewing partners, agents & distributors

Deliver of local water of Life objectives through:

Fundraising target and project management

Attract, develop and retain great talent by:

Coaching and developing partner teams to improve performance and maximize development

Delivering against capability plan with specific focus on building functional sales capabilities (QDV/PPP) with partner teams

Measurement:

Delivery of NSV, Volume and TP plan targets via AOP

Delivery of Marketing plans via market share data and branch health scores

Growth and development of strategic partnerships via Joined Up Business Planning (JUBP)

Controls, compliance and governance via audit reviews

CAPABILITIES

You will need to have:

Good skills in managing partners and stakeholders

Ability to translate strategies into action plans

Flexible working options: you must live and work within the designated city area to ensure a deep understanding of the local marketplace is achieved.

Driving license

You will also need to be:

An “executional champion” – knows what it takes to make things happen on the ground

“Hands on” and invest appropriate time in the trade

Sensitive to local culture/ environment

Fluent French and English
